From the inbox:
I've been trying really hard this semester and according to my calculations, my test average is an 88 (before final grading curve) and after doing the make up quiz (which it said I made a 100% on) my quiz grade should be 100...it rounds out to be close to a 91, but if the final grade is somewhat curved that would push me up to an "A."
Basically, I'm begging because I'm on the borderline and an "A" might get me on Chancellor's list, and it never hurts to try I guess.
My reply:
I think that giving away grades violates the spirit of the Chancellor's List.
i maintain that if i do a below-average job on anything assigned by my wife, I should get credit for trying ("let me get this straight -- i stop watching `when daredevil stunts go bad: the czech edition' to install the washer, and just because i misconnected the hoses and your new sweater got washed in hot water and shrunk so much that our two year old cannot wear it it's my fault??? AND LEAST I TRIED!!!")
no chancellor's list for me either.
