I saw some of these HRs growing up near Atlanta. I think 700, but my fading memory is only sure that I saw a big one during the season preceding 714 and 715. We saw 714 on a TV at school (it was the daytime opener against the Reds). We saw 715 on Monday Night Baseball, my mom offered to take me and I declined, wishing to avoid the crowds. Loser.

I remember 715. My Mom was at a circle meeting at church and I was with my Dad picking her up (one car family). The radio is on and its a homerun...... My Dad was so mad and may have sworn right there in the church parking lot. I tried to console him with, "Dad, I bet that they will show it on sports highlights."

My mom offered to take me to the game. I said, no, it will be too crowded. I was crowdaphobic even as a 10 year old.
